1. Platform role

Scouting Badger provides software tools that help parents, scouts, and merit badge counselors coordinate merit badge counseling. Scouting Badger is not a Scouting America council, unit, or advancement authority and does not award badges or official advancement.

2. Accounts & eligibility

Parents/guardians create and supervise scout accounts. Merit Badge Counselors must be eligible under Scouting America rules (including current youth protection training) and complete platform review before offering paid courses. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide.

3. Payments

Course payments are processed by Stripe. The registration fee is set by Scouting Badger and shown at enrollment. A configured stipend share may later be transferred to the course’s designated stipend payee via Stripe Connect. Scouting Badger does not release stipend payment until the designated recipient completes tax certification and payout setup. Refunds follow the policies shown at checkout and applicable law.

4. Youth protection

Users must follow Scouting America Barriers to Abuse and platform safety rules (no one-on-one adult–youth messaging; qualifying supervision for live sessions; cameras required). Violations may result in suspension and reporting to appropriate authorities or units.

5. Content & recordings

You grant Scouting Badger a limited license to host content you upload for course delivery and safety review. Session recordings/transcripts, when enabled with parental consent, are retained for a limited period as described in the Privacy notice.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” Counseling summaries and blue-card uploads are tools for unit leaders; Scouting Badger does not guarantee acceptance by any unit or council.
